There are hundreds of listings in the 2009 API Directory and thousands more nationally at apilifeSMART.com.au. In most cases accessing the discount requires the presentation of your API Card and following the instructions outlined. Who is entitled to use the API Card?
The API Card can be used by the cardholder, their partner and children up to the age of 18. The API Card is id until the expiry date shown on the card.
Validity of the API Card
An establishment may refuse to accept the card on special event days. These include, but are not limited to, Public holidays, New Year’s Eve/Day, Valentine’s Day, Mothers' Day and sporting events. All offers are subject to availability and bookings are required for the benefit to be received.
Other offers
API leisure&lifestyle offers may not be combined or used in conjunction with any other discount program, special promotion or other offer. The API discount is not valid on sale, special, reduced and clearance items unless otherwise stated. If in doubt, ask the establishment ahead of time or when making your booking/purchase.
Changes to the API Directory
API leisure&lifestyle endevours to minimise amendments to the offers in the Directory. In the case that amendments do occur, cardholder notification will take place through API leisure&lifestyle publications and on apilifeSMART.com.au. These changes should be made to your Directory accordingly. The API Guarantee will not apply once an amendment has been published.
Prices are subject to change
The prices, rates, and/or discounts quoted in the Directory are correct at the time of printing and subject to change at any time without notice. API leisure&lifestyle will always endeavour to keep cardholders updated of such changes via its publications and website.
Using the API Card for accommodation
You must book your accommodation directly with the establishment before checking in. The discounted API rates are not available when booking through a travel agent or third party. Be sure to identify yourself as an API cardholder and get confirmation of your discounted room before securing a confirmation number and the reservations staff members’ name. Upon arrival, present your API Card. The discounted rate will then be applied to your final account upon checking out.
Rack Rate discounts
The rack rate is the hotels nondiscounted rate that all other rates are constructed from. The API leisure&lifestyle discount is applied to the rack rate (unless specifically stated otherwise) and does not apply to special packages, travel agency bookings or seasonal, weekend, group and corporate rates. The discount may not be combined with any other discount program, social promotion or offer. If you have additional people in your room, an extra-person charge may be applicable.
Room type
Unless otherwise stated, the discount is valid on the hotel’s standard accommodation room.
Subject to availability
All offers are subject to availability. Hotels only have a limited number of rooms that they can discount each night. It is recommended that you book in advance, where possible.
Using the API Card for activities & attractions
To receive your discount at an activities & attraction establishment, present your API Card upon entry/booking. Take note of the discount and any conditions ahead of time.
Complimentary admission
The ‘complimentary admission’ offer entitles an API cardholder to ‘one complimentary admission when a second admission of equal or greater value is purchased’.
Percentage off admission
Where the establishment provides a ‘percentage off’ discount, the cardholder, their partner and children are entitled to that percentage off admission (unless otherwise stated). It is at the establishment’s discretion to extend the discount beyond the cardholder, their partner and children to include the entire party.
Liability of API leisure&lifestyle
Although all care has been taken to ensure the details in the Directory are correct at the time of printing, circumstances beyond the control of API leisure&lifestyle may change certain facts. API leisure&lifestyle accepts no liability in the event of any information proving to be inaccurate.
